lessons from expats

Expats are their own special breed of people. Seriously. I love expats. Living abroad in this fashion kind of feels like college all over again except the beer budget is better. People are always coming and going. People take care of you when you need it. You feel grateful and return the favor to a newer expat in need of the advice you were given by a stranger not so long ago. Overnight, that stranger has become your friend. After being away, I always feel a renewed sense of love and appreciation being home. I try to be more agreeable and go with the flow because I’ve missed everything about home. This article sheds some light on the dynamic of us expats. It also gives a good perspective on life we could all benefit from. Truly.

See what I mean here.

  1. Loved the article. My husband and I were just discussing the fact that when we do go home, we need to adopt the same spirit of discovery in our own back yard. Thanks for sharing!

    • It can be challenging but I think it helps with keeping a good perspective in life. Thanks for stopping by!
